Service: Friendly Visiting for Seniors
Description
Description (Service) | Connects and educates people in the community to identify the signs and symptoms that a senior may be at risk and provides an opportunity to connect them to the appropriate services such as individual and group activities, for example, workshops, exercise classes, and social gatherings. Adopt a Senior connects isolated, lonely seniors at Christmas and the kindness continues throughout the year. Volunteer Friendly Visiting program brings clients together with volunteers to ease clients' isolation and worry. Visits may include walking, reading together, or sharing a cup of tea; the desired outcome is an ongoing supportive relationship. Tele-chat may be arranged for individuals requiring a regular call to ensure they are safe, comfortable, and in good health. |
