Falls Prevention

Services can also be geared toward preventing falls, by utilizing physiotherapy services to increase and/or maintain mobility and strength, and occupational therapy to increase understanding of individual fall risk factors and intervention priorities:

• falls prevention education as a part of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services
• assistive devices/aids prescriptions, home and car modifications and assistance with funding applications, provided as part of Occupational Therapy services
• access to Dietitians who can assist clients in making healthy food choices to benefit bone mass and muscle strength
• also does falls presentations to groups
